Get wax out of fabrics?

Sometimes you cant and the article is permanently spoiled BUT often it can be made good - even if it looks impossible.

If wax gets onto fabrics or carpets, it can be got out using an iron and lots of paper.

If the fabric is of delicate use a plain paper such as the white paper used by chip shops (white news off cuts). Otherwise newspaper works fine. Again if delicate use the lowest iron setting that will still work.

Place the paper between the iron and the wax as an absorbing medium and keep repeating this until there is none to soak up.

If the dye has left a stain, try a stain remover, or it may well fade out as many dyes in candles are not light-fast.

You would need to expose the stained item to the sun to find out.

Of course prevention is much more effective than cure. Take care to place candles in and on containers and surfaces that keep such risks to a minimum. (See Other Hazards)
